Care
A little care, a long life.
Pearls are gentle by nature. A few simple habits will keep them luminous for decades.
The First Rule
Pearls are the last thing you put on, and the first thing you take off.
They love to be worn. The natural oils in your skin help maintain their lustre. But they do not love perfume, hairspray, sunscreen, or household cleaners. Put them on after your beauty routine, and remove them before you sleep.
Daily Care
Four quiet habits.
Caring for pearls is not complicated. It is simply a rhythm of attention.
Wear them.
Pearls thrive in contact with clean skin. Wearing them regularly keeps them from drying out. Just let them be the final touch, not the first.
Wipe them.
After each wear, gently wipe your pearls with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. This removes body oils, sweat, and residue before it can dull the surface.
Store them.
Keep pearls in a soft pouch or a separate compartment of your jewelry box. They are softer than metals and gemstones, so hard neighbors can scratch them.
Rest them.
Avoid direct sunlight, heat, and dry environments. A bedroom drawer or a fabric-lined box is ideal. Never seal them in a plastic bag — pearls need a little air.
What to Avoid
A few things pearls do not forgive.
- —Perfume, hairspray, and sunscreen — always apply before wearing pearls.
- —Household cleaners, vinegar, and chlorine — these can etch the nacre.
- —Ultrasonic cleaners and steamers — the vibration and heat can damage pearls.
- —Sleeping, showering, or exercising in pearls — friction and sweat wear them down.
- —Abrasive cloths or brushes — use only a soft, clean microfiber cloth.
The Collection
Find your pearl.
Each collection is hand-selected in small quantities, because every pearl is naturally unique. Future editions may feature the same design, but never exactly the same pearls.
